Inkspiration Stories

{March 3, 2011}   Top Six Tattoo Sites

Inkspiration Stories is not the only place on the Internet for people to share their tattoo stories. Here are my Top Five websites and an article from the Pittsburg Post-Gazette that also encourage people to share the story behind their ink:

Tattoo Confidential is my favorite website for tattoo stories. Once you read about Agamid’s touching lizard tattoo story, you will be hooked. The website’s design is simple, but serves it purpose well. Tattoo Confidential encourages people to write their own first person accounts of why they got their tattoos.

PBS is a great resource for those you want to learn more about the history of tattoos. The website also features a few tattoo stories from various people, such as a California defense attorney and a Hawaiian man. Think everything on PBS is boring? Remember it was the channel that brought you Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Oddee brings you ten bizarre tattoo stories. There is a 101-year-old grandma who got a tattoo and a man who got “mini” tattooed on a part of his body that most men would not advertise is that small.

Tattales features stories, tattoo ideas, and a gallery. While it is a cool looking website, it is not the easiest to navigate. However, the story Tattoo Attraction is a must read for anyone curious about how different cultures view tattoos.

About.com has everything you ever needed or wanted to know about tattoos. Karen L. Hudson, who has several tattoos and served a tattoo apprenticeship, writes about a wide variety of topics from how to become a tattoo artist to health and safety.

Last summer, the Pittsburg Post-Gazette published an interesting article featuring tattoo stories. All of the stories are from people whose tattoos are visible.
